Bradford City Police 1967

I rememember this incident well, it was a Wednesday afternoon (my afternoon off) I had my camera, as usual, a Voigtlander Vito C with a 50mm f2.8 Lanthar lens. I happened along the Odeon (rear of)  and saw activity in the form of Police and public, Thinking it was a serious incident, with the possibility of selling  pictures to the Telegraph and Argus (Bradford's local paper), I fired of a few shots of my expensive black and white film, Ilford FP3 I think.  It turned out to be only small kids trying to sneak in the back door of the Odeon, well at least that's what one of the bystanders said anyway. I was 16 at the time and quite naive so I thought no different.

The thing I remember most about this incident, was how poorly dressed these children were, like Victorian Waifs, which even to my young eyes seemed incongruous in the 60s, plus, they didn't seemed to bothered by the Police, which was a little suprising for those times. The outcome was, they were taken to the Police station, which then was housed in City Hall. I'm sorry to say, that is all I know about the day a group of children tried to sneek in the back door of the Odeon Cinema Manchester Rd 1967.

The cars in the pictures were I think, a Bedford van and a Ford V6, wihch was quite an impressive car for the time, well I thought so!
